Abstract
Clothing was one of the most important aspects of appearance and identity in the ancient world, for Christian women as much as for others. The aim of this article is to offer new insights on this question from the point of view of North African Church Fathers of the 2nd-4th centuries AD. These authors perfectly reflect the different models that Christian women were expected to follow, compared with pagan models.
