Abstract
ABSTRACT: In this essay, the author focuses on the metafictional characteristics of "Diario de la hepatitis" (1993), a text that is difficult to classify into a genre, in which the Argentine César Aria reflects on the process of creation of literary works. In addition, the author examines one of the writer’s personas, highlighting his interest in describing his trade rather than in telling a story, though such a description in fact constitutes, at the same time, the story being told.
