Estudio clínico sobre la influencia de las alteraciones visuales (miopía e hipermetropía) en la percepción del color dental

Abstract

En la actualidad, las rehabilitaciones dentales presentan a nivel funcional un elevado ratio de supervivencia, por lo que la estética de dichas restauraciones ha cobrado cada vez mayor importancia. La capacidad de reproducir lo más fielmente posible la anatomía natural del diente y la mejora de los materiales de restauración, hace que la determinación del color sea un elemento fundamental como criterio de éxito para obtener un óptimo resultado estético, y la guía de color dental, una herramienta muy útil para este fin. por tanto, el estudio de las alteraciones en la percepción del color del profesional que confeccione la prótesis dental, ya que es el encargado de realizar una selección del color, será un aspecto crítico para un correcto diagnóstico del color y el éxito de cualquier restauración. OBJETIVO: Evaluar si las alteraciones visuales (miopía e hipermetropía)in fluyen en la selección del color dental, qué dimensiones del color (intensidad, tinte, valor) se ven más afectadas en presencia de dichas alteraciones y si la variable género del operador es un factor del cual depende el obtener mejores resultados.

At the moment, dental rehabilitation poses at a functional level a high survival ratio; hence the cosmetic effect of the restorations has gained more relevance. Both the ability to replicate as truthfully as possible the tooth natural shape and the better quality of restoration materials make determinig the color a key element, part of the success criterion, in order to obtain the bestesthetic results. Also, the dental color guide is a very useful tool to that end. Being the dentist in charge of selecting the color, the study of the alterations as regards the way in which he or she perceives color will be a key aspect for an accurate color diagnosticand for the success of any restoration. OBJECTIVE: Analyze whether visual abnormalities (myopia and hypermetropia) affect the selection of color for th dental piece, which color dimensions are more affected when visual abnormalities are presented and whether the operator's gender is actually a factor that will influence the obtainment of better results.
