Miliarios y límites provinciales: Algunas reflexiones sobre el miliario de Mengíbar CIL XVII/1 93 y la frontera oriental entre la Bética y la Citerior

Abstract

El miliario CIL XVII/1, 93 de Claudio encontrado en el yacimiento de Cerro Maquiz (Mengibar, Jaén) y tradicionalmente adscrito a la provincia Bética y a la via Augusta es una prueba de interés para replantear el límite provincial con la provincia Hispania Citerior si lo ponemos en contexto con las dinámicas de amojonamiento y de política viaria de ambas partes, pudiendo considerarlo como un miliario citerior y redibujar la compleja frontera entre ambas provincias.The milestone CIL XVII/1, 93 dated in the age of Claudio that comes from the archaeological site of Cerro Maquiz (Mengíbar, Jaén), is considered to belong to the province of Baetica and the road via Augusta. Putting this milestone in context with the road policy, this is a very interesting proof in order to rethink the provincial boundary of this province with Hispania Citerior. It can be considered as a Citerior milestone that belonged to the road Castulo-Acci and it allows me to redraw the line between both provinces.
