Reconstrucción del maxilar superior: algoritmo reconstructivo

Abstract

La reconstrucción del maxilar superior es un reto para el cirujano reconstructivo. Su objetivo fundamental es restablecer la función y la estética del paciente tras la cirugía ablativa. Los colgajos locales, los colgajos microquirúrgicos y la distracción osteogénica ofrecen una mejora sustancial en la calidad de vida del paciente.Objetivos: Demostrar la eficacia y fiabilidad de la utilización de las distintas técnicas reconstructivas.Métodos: Se ha realizado un estudio retrospectivo descriptivo basado en la revisión de datos clínicos de pacientes con defectos en el maxilar superior que fueron sometidos a cirugía reconstructiva en el Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón entre enero de 2004 hasta septiembre de 2015.
