A vueltas con el orden. Mito y modernidad entre la felicidad y el síntoma

Abstract

La reactivación "moderniste" del mito griego se produjo a menudo en términos clásicos y luminosos, a lo que se alude aquí como felicidad, pero también de atavismo y desenfreno, como síntoma. A partir de revistas vinculadas al arte se abordan estas diversas asimilaciones destacando lo griego y/o clásico en su conjunto como objeto mítico per se, como mitema característico de entreguerras. A la luz de dicho mitema han de analizarse las obras explícita o implícitamente mitológicas y la emoción, fuera luminosa o sombría, que aportaron a su época. En una primera parte se trata la reinterpretación moderna y luminosa del clasicismo, hasta sus usos espurios en manos de los fascismos, para, a continuación, desplegar el fuerte contraste de la asimilación dionisiaca y nietzscheana de lo griego en otros campos intelectuales y artísticos.

The modernist revival of the Greek myth often took place in classical and luminous terms, referred to here as happiness, but also in terms of atavism and debauchery, as a symptom. These various assimilations are dealt with in art-related magazines, highlighting the Greek and/or classical as a whole as a mythical object per se, as a characteristic inter-war mytheme. In the light of this myth, the explicitly or implicitly mythological works and the emotion, whether luminous or sombre, that they brought to their time are to be analysed. The first part deals with the modern and luminous reinterpretation of classicism, up to its spurious uses in the hands of fascism, and then unfolds the sharp contrast of the Dionysian and Nietzschean assimilation of the Greek in other intellectual and artistic fields.
