Abstract
Fernando de Alva Ixtlilxóchitl (1578-1648) was one of the first mestizos to research the history of his ancestors. His works are known with the title of Obras Históricas (Historical Works). He wrote histories which went from hand to hand before getting lost. Over the centuries, his works were published and reproduced several times due to their documentary value. This paper studies the content and origin of one of them: the manuscript kept in the Biblioteca Histórica Marqués de Valdecilla.
