Tōsōgu: lugares en el metal. Monturas de sables japoneses en colecciones españolas

Abstract

Esta tesis está planteada en base a dos premisas: realizar una catalogación de las piezas de armamento japonés presentes en las colecciones españolas, mediante un estudio razonado de las piezas, actualizado con las últimas investigaciones disponibles. Para llevar a cabo este cometido, hemos tenido que elaborar un texto teórico, inédito en español, estableciera las bases para el correcto estudio de la historia del arte de las monturas de sables japoneses. Para realizar esta tesis, nos hemos servido de bibliografía específica publicada en otros idiomas, tales como: inglés, italiano, francés, alemán y japonés. Manejar este tipo de información nos ha permitido realizar un estudio sobre los investigadores de tsuba y tōsōgu y sus publicaciones, desde el origen de la historiografía sobre monturas de sables japoneses. Este novedoso escrito parte de los primeros manuales de genealogías de escuelas y catálogos de monturas de sable a japoneses, de los siglos XVIII y XIX, hasta los últimos estudios publicados en 2018...

This thesis for PhD is based on two premises: study each of the pieces of Japanese arms present in the Spanish collections, through a reasoned study of the pieces, updated with the latest available studies and sources. As a result of this, we wrote a theoretical text in Spanish, which for the first time, established the bases for the correct study of the history of the art of Japanese sword’s mountings.To carry out this research, we have used a specific bibliography published in other languages, such as: English, Italian, French, German and Japanese. Handling this type of information has allowed us to carry out a study on the tsuba and tōsōgu researchers and their publications, from the origin of the historiography on Japanese sword mounts.
