Variaciones fonéticas del yeísmo: un estudio acústico en mujeres rioplatenses

Abstract

Este artículo presenta un estudio acústico detallado y sistemático de las variantes alofónicas del yeísmo en el habla femenina rioplatense actual. Se describen características acústicas de los diferentes segmentos fricativos y africados postalveolares, a través de los datos que proporciona el método experimental. El corpus sonoro está constituido por 300 realizaciones fonéticas que fueron obtenidas a partir de la grabación de 5 hablantes mujeres, nacidas en las ciudades de Montevideo y Buenos Aires. En primer lugar, se repasan los antecedentes más significativos sobre el yeísmo rioplatense desde diversas perspectivas, que justifican la necesidad de estudios acústicos que ofrezcan nuevos datos sobre el fenómeno; luego, se describe la metodología empleada en este trabajo. En la parte central, se analizan y describen índices acústicos de fricción, palatalización y sonoridad de las variantes alofónicas del yeísmo rioplantense relevadas, a partir de la observación de espectrogramas, espectros y oscilogramas. En las conclusiones finales se sintetizan los aspectos más relevantes de los resultados obtenidos.

This paper presents a thorough and systematic acoustic study of the allophonic variants of “yeísmo” in current Rio de la Plata speech. It describes the acoustic characteristics of fricative and affricate postalveolar segments, based on data from experimental methods. The corpus has 300 phonetic tokens from the recording of 5 women, native of Montevideo and Buenos Aires. First, this paper gives a review of the most important antecedents of the Río de la Plata “yeísmo” from different perspectives. In this way it shows the lack –and the need- of acoustic studies about this feature. Then, it describes the methodology used in this research. The main part of the paper focuses on the analysis and description of acoustic indexes of friction, palatalization and sonority of the allophonic variants of the Río de la Plata “yeísmo”. This data is based on the observation of spectrograms, spectrums and waveforms. Finally, the conclusions synthesize the most relevant aspects of the results obtained in the research.
