dc.description.abstractThe electromagnetic self‐interaction of a bound classical nonlinear Dirac field in a Coulomb potential is studied. It is shown that by a finite renormalization procedure the radiative corrections can be eliminated at order α2, after which the energy levels coincide with those of the hydrogen atom.
