Abstract
The analyses of Ovetensian monarchy’s ideological cover have been always contemplated as a static and unchanging message that submerge into the first moments of a chiefdom emergence that tried to consolidate its position as an autonomous entity. In this contribution, I will attempt to study the form in which the Asturian leaders conceived the Visigoth collapse impact and the evolution in the understanding and justification about the eight century occurrences that, finally, resulted in a lineal and triumphalist narrative in the last decades of 9th century according to new political requirements.
