Incertidumbre, crisis y globalización: La revolución inminente

Abstract

Cuando Marx trazara su diagnóstico del devenir del capitalismo en la segunda mital del s.XIX pronosticó que un “sujeto colectivo”, el proletariado (la mano de obra de producción industrial), si cobrara conciencia de su situación objetiva como fuerza de trabajo enfrentada estructuralmente al capital, emprendería un proyecto revolucionario que culminaría con el modo de producción capitalista. Más de un siglo después el pronóstico no sólo fue fallido, sino que nos ha conducido a un capitalismo anti- capitalista en sus fundamentos que, no obstante, no ha dejado de desarrollar su capacidad explotadora. La ciencia económica no ha dejado de vanagloriarse, a lo largo de todo este tiempo, de ser capaz de predecir, objetiva y científicamente, el discurrir de la evolución de lo económico; pese a lo cual, no predijo el mundo actual que habitamos. Sometidos a la voluntad del riesgo especulativo, ya no sabemos si la decisión de un tecnócrata vietnamita puede afectar a la evolución bursátil de una empresa de cosméticos o si la dimisión de un primer ministro puede elevar o no la prima de riesgo de otros Estados-nación. El capitalismo ha llevado hasta el extremo nuestra capacidad de impredecibilidad; la incertidumbre es la constante creciente de nuestra existencia. Frente a ello, crecen, proliferan, fermentan sin cesar, movimientos ciudadanos que, sin tener conocimiento exacto de lo que ocurre, se dan cuenta, no obstante, de que algo anda mal. Todo anuncia, en definitiva, que el erróneo pronóstico de Marx va a cobrar vigencia práctica de un modo que todavía no sabemos cómo será; pero se pueden anticipar algunas directrices sobre su cariz y naturaleza.

When Marx made his diagnosis of the Capitalism evolution, in the middle of XIX Century, he predicted that a “collective subject”, the proletariat (the labor of industrial production), if will become aware of its objective situation as labour force structurally in conflict with the capital, undertake a revolutionary process that will eliminate de capitalis mode of production. After more than a century, the forecst failed and we have been led to an anti-capitalist capitalim in its basis that, however, has continued to develop its explitative capacity. Economic science has boasted, throughout all this time, of its ability to predict, objective and scientific, the evolution of economic events, yet it didn’t predict the current world we inhabit, driven by the will of the speculative risk: we don’t know if the decision of a Vietnamese technograt can affect the stock market performance of a cosmetic company or if the resignation of a prime minister can raise or not the risk premium of other Nation-estates. Capitalism has taken to the extreme our unpredictability capacity; uncertainty is the constant growing in our existence. Against this, grow, proliferate, ferment, endless, citizen movements that, not knowing exactly what is happening, realize, however, that something is wrong. All announces, ultimately, that the Marx erroneus prediction will acquire practical effect in a way that we still don’t know how it will be; but it is possible to anticipate some guidelines of its appearance and nature.
