Alcalá Galiano y el partido moderado

Abstract

Antonio Alcalá Galiano (1789-1865) fue un pensador y político del partido moderado que trabajó duramente para construir un sistema político basado en el gobierno representativo en la España del siglo XIX. Escribió multitud de artículos y libros analizando este proceso, por lo que sus reflexiones son un interesante camino para comprender la teoría política del moderantismo. Se interesó especialmente por el papel de la Corona, el sistema electoral y la organización municipal y provincial. Pretendió que el sistema político español estuviera fundado en un acuerdo entre las clases medias y la reina Isabel II. He worked hard to built a new po-litical system based on representative government in Spain in the 19th Century. He also wrote articles and books to analyse this process, that's why his reflections are an interesting way to understand conservative political theory. He was especially interested in the role of the crown, the electoral system and local administration.
