Abstract
El Chagas ha traspasado las fronteras de América del Sur y Central y se ha convertido en un desafío para los países no endémicos debido al incremento de la movilidad migratoria en los últimos años. El diagnóstico y el tratamiento temprano de Chagas mejoran el pronóstico clínico, la calidad de vida y previene la transmisión vertical. La accesibilidad al sistema sanitario, los conocimientos, las actitudes, las percepciones, las creencias y los comportamientos de los/las profesionales de Atención Primaria y de la población en riesgo deben tenerse en cuenta para el desarrollo de programas de cribado. Chagas disease has crossed South and Central America’s borders and has become a challenge for non-endemic countries since population mobility has increased in recent years. Early diagnosis and treatment of Chagas disease improves the clinical prognosis, the quality of life and prevents vertical transmission.
