Representaciones y religiosidad en el populismo latinoamericano: los casos de Rafael Correa, Hugo Chávez y Evo Morales

Abstract

Durante mucho tiempo se ha discutido sobre el populismo. Este concepto ha sido abordado desde diversas perspectivas que han sido asociadas a momentos de crisis, transiciones históricas, e incluso al empuje de una masa popular que se ha sentido excluida y que ha visto en el líder carismático una posibilidad de representación, reconocimiento e inclusión. Por ello, es importante destacar las visiones con las cuales se mira el concepto en construcción del populismo, una visión anclada a una percepción negativa y otra que lo coloca como reivindicación de las clases populares. En base a estos aspectos, la presente tesis analiza de manera comparativa la problemática latinoamericana y, de manera específica, de Ecuador, Venezuela y Bolivia contemporáneos dentro de la categoría de populismo y su imbricación con el uso de representaciones religiosas. This concept has been approached from diverse perspectives that have been associated to moments of crisis, historical transitions, and even to the thrust of a popular mass that has felt excluded and that has seen in the charismatic leader a possibility of representation, recognition and inclusion. Therefore, it is important to highlight the visions with which the concept under construction of populism is viewed, a vision anchored to a negative perception and another that places it as a vindication of the popular classes. Based on these aspects, this thesis analyzes in a comparative way the Latin American problematic and, specifically, of contemporary Ecuador, Venezuela and Bolivia within the category of populism and its overlap with the use of religious representations.
