Determinación de parámetros antropológicos mandibulares de interés médico legal

Abstract

Se define como la Antropología Forense como aquella ciencia cuyo objetivo principal consiste en ”la identificación de personas vivas o personas a través de sus rasgos faciales o corporales o de sus restos óseos” (Villalaín, 2000). En este sentido, el estudio del dimorfismo sexual ha sido un tema que ha preocupado desde sus inicios a todo antropólogo forense para la determinación del perfil biológico y la identificación de restos. Se presenta en esta tesis el uso del método de medición volumétrica y métrica a partir de la digitalización de mandíbula seca, con el fin de proponer una nueva aproximación a la resolución del problema del dimorfismo sexual. Se ha escogido la mandíbula porque representa una estructura sumamente resistente y, hasta la fecha, no se ha publicado ningún artículo al respecto que utilice la tecnología 3D específicamente en la misma. It is defined as Forensic Anthropology as that science whose main objective is "the identification of living persons or people through their facial or body features or their skeletal remains" (Villalaín, 2000). In this sense, the study of sexual dimorphism has been a topicthat has worried since its inception to every forensic anthropologist for the determination of the biological profile and the identification of remains.
