Abstract
This doctoral thesis takes stock of critical studies on the problem of work from the perspective of philosophy and the social sciences. It starts from a discussion on the ways of problematising work as a social relationship, as a relationship of power and as a relationship of exploitation and domination, with special emphasis on the debates on precariousness. Specifically, it evaluates the absence of theoretical elaborations of work as an eminently philosophical problem, its displacement as a secondary theme in the history of philosophy and its incipient recovery in the debates of the last decade. The research discusses the experience of harm on two fronts: the impact of contemporary working conditions on subjectivity and on the body. To this end, there is a critical dialogue with the contributions of the so-called ‘psychodynamics of work’, a current developed in France as a theory of subjectivity and the experience of work that goes beyond the framework of strict psychopathology and which, in its development, has engaged in intense dialogue with philosophy...
