Las infecciones en los pacientes con enfermedad traumática grave (ETG) son una complicación frecuente y grave. Dada la dificultad para obtener un diagnóstico precoz y fiable, existe una tendencia a la prescripción excesiva de antimicrobianos, cuya duración además se prolonga por la ausencia de herramientas que apoyen la finalización segura del tratamiento. Esto promueve la selección de microorganismos multirresistentes y supone un problema de seguridad para los pacientes. Infections in critically ill trauma patients are a common and serious complication. Given the difficulty in obtaining an early and reliable diagnosis, there is a tendency to overprescribe antimicrobials, which duration is also prolonged by the absence of tools that support safe ending of treatment.
