Abstract
Las enfermedades neurodegenerativas (EN) están caracterizadas por la afectación progresiva del sistema nervioso central (SNC) y periférico (SNP) debido a la pérdida gradual de poblaciones neuronales en determinadas áreas del cerebro. Entre las EN más prevalentes en la población actual se encuentran la enfermedad de Alzheimer (EA), la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) y la esclerosis lateral amiotrófica (ELA). Si bien todas estas patologías presentan una evolución degenerativa, la causa desencadenante es aún desconocida en la mayoría de los pacientes, lo que, junto a la heterogeneidad de estas enfermedades, dificulta el desarrollo de terapias efectivas. En los últimos años, la nanotecnología ha emergido como un enfoque innovador para la caracterización y desarrollo de terapias para diferentes patologías. Neurodegenerative diseases (ND) are characterized by progressive involvement of the central (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS) due to the gradual loss of neuronal populations in certain areas of the brain. Among the most prevalent ND in today's population are Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
