Abstract
This doctoral thesis develops and analyzes the political organization that punished the adversaries on the part of the rebel side from a very early stage of the conflict, since from November 1936 legal coverage is given to the process of purging teachers in the occupied zones. The study shows how in the town of Llerena (Badajoz) and the nearby towns of Trasierra, Casas de Reina and Reina, labor repression was carried out mercilessly in key sectors of the population. These were not isolated situations, but became a methodical labor purge after the application of regulations such as the Law for the Purge of Public officials of February 14, 1939. The analysis shows how there are guilds much more affected by this labor purge, such as farm workers, railroad workers or public teachers. The labor consequences for the losers of the war are not only for them, but also for their families, who will suffer this stigma forever. This work becomes essential to understand the systematic repression of the victors to wipe out the enemy in essential areas of their development as human beings. The study also shows that not only public employees are analyzed in the greatest detail, but also all the inhabitants of the region. The implementation of a questionnaire on the background and behavior of the citizens of Llerena, which was carried out by Falange after the Civil War, is a clear example that the Regime didn’t rest in its goal of purging all groups in search of disaffected people to mark and penalize them.
