La efigie en el teatro de Tadeusz Kantor: un modelo para el personaje

Abstract

Este trabajo trata sobre dos recursos teatrales: el empleo de la efigie y la muñequización del personaje. Por cada uno se ha propuesto una definición, una tipología y una caracterización. Y para ambos, al mismo tiempo, se ha trazado una breve historia que indaga en sus orígenes, las causas de su aparición y algunas de sus manifestaciones principales. El teatro de Tadeusz Kantor, del que se ofrece un panorama general atendiendo a las corrientes a las que se adscribe, a la periodización de sus obras, a su poética y a su método de trabajo, resulta especialmente representativo para el objeto de estudio. Por esta razón ha servido como referente para establecer la teoría y la historia, para destacar algunos autores que contribuyeron al desarrollo del fenómeno y para analizar las ideas expresadas en un caso específico con mayor desarrollo. Por efigie se entiende toda construcción plástica capaz de figurar la presencia de un personaje sobre la escena. El objeto, el títere, la escultura, la máscara, el maniquí o la figura de cera son algunas de las formas que puede adoptar. En origen es un objeto independiente que pertenece a las artes plásticas o que configura un género artístico por sí mismo. This work is about two theatrical resources: the employment of the effigy and the marionettization of the character. For each of them a definition, a typology and a characterization have been proposed. And for both, at the same time, there has been a short story outlined that inquires into their origins, the causes for their apparition, and s m f th m m f st t s. T usz K t ’s th t , f wh h s ff general panorama by attending to the currents it ascribed to, to the periodization of his plays, his poetic and his work method, turns out to be especially representative for the object of study. For this reason it has served as a reference to establish theory and history, to highlight some authors who contributed to the development of the phenomenon, and to analyze the ideas expressed in a specific case with a higher development. By effigy it is understood every plastic construction capable of representing the presence of a character on stage. The object, the puppet, the sculpture, the mask, the mannequin, or the wax figure are some of the forms it can adopt. In origin it is an independent object that belongs to plastic arts or what configures an artistic genre in itself.
