Abstract
Objectives. Understand the mechanism of action of SAR-CoV-2, as well as know the different treatments, their pharmacological interactions and psychological repercussions currently existing. Material and methods. A bibliographic search has been carried out of references published since 2019, systematic reviews and clinical trials, the two types of studies that offer us more robust evidence, in different databases. Results. At the end of 2019, in China's Wuhan city, a new coronavirus was identified as the cause of the many cases of pneumonia being recorded. OMS declared the disease a global pandemic and named the disease COVID-19. Although its true origin is not known, it is speculated that it comes from the bat. The main form of SARS-CoV-2 transmission is between people through aerosols or respiratory droplets. The infectious process is produced by the S protein that recognizes ACE2 as it is receptor to enter alveoolate cells. Pneumonia is the most severe symptom. The period of greatest infectiousness is at the beginning of the disease. Immunized people can re-inject. Conclusions. The true origin of SARS-CoV-2 is not known, transmitting itself through aerosols, the diagnosis of which is carried out through PCR-real time, with vaccines being the only form of a shortcut of the virus at this time, although Plitedepsine is a powerful antiviral drug in development by a Spanish pharmaceutical company, which supposedly reduces the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 regardless of the strain of the virus.
