Trayectorias vitales de cooperantes españoles en África subsahariana (PALOP)

Abstract

Esta tesis responde a una modalidad epistemológica y metodológica marcada por su carácter reflexivo. En ella se encuentran interrelacionadas las personas estudiadas (los sujetos de estudio y la persona que las estudia. Ello es así por varias razones: a la informadora forma parte del colectivo investigado, b la investigadora se investiga a sí misma, y c las personas investigadas no sólo aportan material en bruto, sino que ellas son también coautoras de este trabajo. El objetivo central de esta investigación ha sido el de conocer y comprender las trayectorias vitales de las personas que hemos trabajado en acciones de cooperación para el desarrollo y ayuda humanitaria en los países del África Subsahariana, América Central y del Sur, explorando la influencia que tan tenido los aspectos sociales y culturales implicados en dichos procesos...

In epistemological and methodological terms this thesis is eminently reflexive in nature. Relationships are established between two sets of people: the subjects of the study and the person conducting the study. This is so for various reasons, namely: a) the informant is part of the group under study, b) the researcher researches herself, and c) the people being studied not only provide research material but are also co-authors of the study. The main objective of the study has been to know and understand the cultural and social influences bearing on the life paths of people - including oneself - who have worked in the development and humanitarian aid sector in Sub-Saharan African and Central and South American countries. I have tried to study some of the factors which shaped their initial desire to become involved in aid work and I have tried to explore their subsequent personal and professional experiences from a psycho-sociological viewpoint,..
