Abstract
The myths of romantic love are socially shared beliefs about this supposedly natural love, which are characterized for being illogical, irrational, impossible, absurd... And which describe how “true” love (supposedly) is, where no other way of loving is valid. In this thesis we’ve carried out a comprehensive bibliographical review about the concept of love and the romantic myth from different levels of analysis (biological, cultural, historical, social and demographic, psychosocial); besides, we’ve gathered information about other variables of interest connected to the affection subject (jealousy, attachment...) and the changes in love that have happened nowadays. From this work of theoretical revision, we observe that the concept of romantic myth is not always exposed with clarity or precision in the consulted bibliography, and the psychometric tools that assess this concept don’t study it in depth...
