dc.description.abstractLa mayoría de las emisiones monetarias de Cartago Nova pueden estar relacionadas con las deducciones de los veteranos romanos. Los soldados licenciados se establecían en colonias o municipios romanos en ceremonias especiales, dirigidas por los duoviri quinquennales en el caso de Cartago Nova, que aparecen en casi todas las emisiones monetarias de la ciudad. La mayoría de los veteranos que se establecieron en Cartago Nova sirvieron en la legión imperial de Missenum y participaron en varias campañas militares entre los años 31 a. C. y 41 d. C. Las emisiones de monedas con motivos militares y religiosos (RPC1 149, RPC1 162-164, RPC1 174-177 y RPC1 157, 169, 172-174) constituyen el tema principal de este artículo, y algunas de ellas se reclasificarán en términos cronológicos según los catálogos de referencia más utilizados.
dc.description.abstractMost coin issues from Carthago Nova may be linked to deductiones of Roman veterans. Discharged soldiers were settled in Roman colonies or municipia in especial ceremonies, which in the case of Carthago Nova were conducted by the duoviri quinquennales, who appear on almost every one of the city’s coin issues. Most of the veterans settled in Carthago Nova served in the imperial leet of Missenum and took part in a number of military campaigns in the period between 31 BC and 41 AD. he coin issues depicting military and religious motifs (RPC1 149, RPC1 162-164, RPC1 174-177, and RPC1 157, 169, 172-174) form the main focus of this article and some of these will be reclassiied in chronological terms, with reference to commonly-used reference catalogues.
