Abstract

La Paz de Utrecht, que puso fin a la guerra de Sucesión española, diseñó una nueva Europa con Felipe V de Borbón en el trono de la Monarquía hispana. El libro trata de las consecuencias y de los reajustes de la Paz en el marco del nuevo orden internacional que se establece, con una especial atención al escenario italiano y mediterráneo, donde se mantuvo la rivalidad de Felipe V con el emperador Carlos VI, y a la que no fueron ajenos los austracistas exiliados. Pero se atiende también a la política borbónica en el mundo atlántico y a las relaciones ibéricas de España y Portugal. La colaboración en la obra de historiadores españoles, italianos y portugués ofrece una reflexión innovadora sobre Europa y la monarquía de Felipe V.

The Peace of Utrecht, which put an end to the War of the Spanish Succession, designed a new Europe with Philip V of Bourbon on the throne of the Hispanic Monarchy. The book deals with the consequences and readjustments of the Peace within the framework of the new international order that was established, paying special attention to the Italian and Mediterranean scenario, where Philip V's rivalry with Emperor Charles VI was maintained, and to which the exiled Austracists were no strangers. But attention is also paid to Bourbon politics in the Atlantic world and the Iberian relations between Spain and Portugal. The collaboration of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese historians in this work offers an innovative reflection on Europe and the monarchy of Philip V.
