Abstract
La MASLD (Enfermedad hepática esteatósica asociada a disfunción metabólica por sus siglas en inglés) es una enfermedad cada día más prevalente. Consiste en la acumulación de ácidos grasos libres en los hepatocitos que, si se descontrola, desemboca en fibrosis hepática. La prevalencia de la MASLD es mayor en pacientes con factores de riesgo asociados como son la Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, la obesidad o el síndrome metabólico entre otros. Todos estos pacientes están en riesgo de desarrollar fibrosis hepática si no se realiza un control y diagnóstico precoz.
