Abstract
El objetivo de la presente tesis doctoral es el de evaluar el impacto de una intervención nutricional basada en la Dieta Mediterránea (DietMed) enriquecida con aceite de oliva virgen extra (AOVE) y frutos secos iniciada de forma precoz [antes de las 12 semanas de gestación (SG)] en el embarazo en relación a:1.La incidencia de diabetes mellitus gestacional (DMG) y complicaciones materno-fetales en mujeres de etnia latinoamericana residentes en España.2.La salud de la descendencia a los 2 años postparto.3.Las tasas de regulación anormal de la glucosa (RAG) y de síndrome metabólico (SM) tanto en las mujeres diagnosticadas con DMG como aquellas con una regulación normal de la glucosa a los 3 años postparto.Para su consecución se evaluó a las mujeres y sus descendientes pertenecientes a la cohorte San Carlos entre los años 2015-2020, dando lugar al desarrollo de estos tres estudios prospectivos...
The aim of this doctoral thesis is to evaluate the impact of a Mediterranean Diet (DietMed)-based nutritional intervention enriched with extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and nuts started early [before 12 gestational weeks (GW)] in pregnancy in relation to:1.The incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and maternal-fetal complications in women of Latin American ethnicity residing in Spain.2.The offspring`s health up to 2 years postpartum.3.The rates of abnormal glucose regulation (AGR) and metabolic syndrome (MS) both in women diagnosed with GDM and those with normal glucose tolerance (NGT) at 3 years postpartum.For its pursuit, these women and their offspring belonging to the San Carlos cohort were evaluated within the years 2015-2020, leading to the development of these three prospective studies...
