Abstract
En la tesis doctoral «Trayectos de la memoria fragmentada de una familia cubana dahomeyano-descendiente. La familia Baró de Jovelllanos, Matanzas (Cuba)», se abordan las prácticas, rituales y narrativas que forman parte de la identidad cultural cubana y del patrimonio material e inmaterial vigente en la localidad de Jovellanos entre un grupo cultural afrodescendiente. Se reflexiona sobre las dinámicas de colaboración y aprendizaje mutuo que han tenido lugar en el vínculo con los cultores y la participación continua en sus manifestaciones culturales en un periodo de algo más de cuarenta años y la incidencia de las políticas institucionales y los procesos de folclorización y de gestión patrimonial que afectan a los sujetos portadores de la memoria cultural afrodescendiente. De acuerdo con los objetivos propuestos, la investigación examina las estrategias de adaptación y resistencias adoptadas por la familia Baró para la construcción de su identidad como descendientes dahomeyanos en la sociedad cubana y la relevancia de su memoria histórica; así como la capacidad de agencia y sociabilidad de los Baró para negociar su participación en la sociedad en general y en su comunidad...
In the doctoral thesis «Trayectos de la memoria fragmentada de una familia cubana dahomeyano-descendiente. The Baró family of Jovelllanos, Matanzas (Cuba)», the practices, rituals and narratives that are part of the Cuban cultural identity and of the tangible and intangible heritage in force in the locality of Jovelllanos among an Afrodescendan tcultural group are approached. It reflects on the dynamics of collaboration and mutual learning that have taken place in the link with the cultors and the continuous participation in their cultural manifestations in a period of more than forty years and the incidence of the institutional policies and the processes of folklorization and patrimonial management that affect the bearers of the Afro-descendant cultural memory. In accordance with the proposed objectives, the research proposed to examine the adaptation and resistance strategies adopted by the Baró family for the construction of their identity as Dahomean descendants in Cuban society and the relevance of their historical memory; as well as the Baró's capacity for agency and sociability to negotiate their participation in society in general and in their community...
