Abstract
We are experiencing a significant and rising increase in scientific production, which poses a constant challenge for dental professionals in their quest to stay updated for the benefit of the patient. This further highlights the importance of synthesizing and filtering evidence through Systematic reviews (SRs) and the formulation of recommendations through Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG's) to translate science into the daily practice of clinicians. Objectives: The primary objective of this Doctoral thesis dissertation was to analyze the limitations of SR's in Dentistry and their impact on the development of strong recommendations through CPG's. The secondary objective was to analyze clinical research in tooth-supported Fixed Dental Prosthesis (FDP).
