Abstract
Con el título Percepciones urbanas multidinámicas: las experiencias de la Fiesta del Orgullo de Madrid y del Carnaval Callejero de São Paulo, esta tesis doctoral tiene como tema la relación entre las fiestas populares urbanas y las percepciones de imágenes de las ciudades. La investigación aporta al campo académico, pero también puede ser de interés para los gestores públicos, empresariales, organizadores de eventos, profesionales del turismo, de la comunicación y el público en general. El objetivo general es investigar el papel de las fiestas populares urbanas en la percepción de imágenes de las ciudades. Para ello, se definió el objeto de estudio centrado en la Fiesta del Orgullo de Madrid y en el Carnaval Callejero de São Paulo. Los objetivos específicos son: analizar las percepciones de las imágenes de Madrid y São Paulo; comparar las percepciones de imágenes de las dos ciudades, y analizar cómo influye la participación de los agentes en las fiestas populares urbanas en tales percepciones. Las teorías previas y el estado de la cuestión se basan en las tres C: Ciudad, Cultura y Comunicación, y se dividen en siete partes para definir los puntos de partida de la investigación: ciudad; fiestas; comunicación y consumo; imágenes y percepciones; cultura y sociedad; Madrid; y São Paulo. Aun al pertenecer al campo de la comunicación en su fundamentación, se utilizan otras disciplinas como la sociología, la filosofía, la antropología, la historia, el urbanismo y las ciencias políticas, por entender que son complementarias y que pueden contribuir a una mejor comprensión del objeto de estudio y ayudar a buscar respuestas, o a proponer preguntas útiles a las investigaciones académicas...
Titled Multidynamic Urban Perceptions: The Experiences of the Madrid Pride Party and the São Paulo Street Carnival, this doctoral thesis has as its theme the relationship between urban popular parties and the perceptions of images of cities. The research contributes to the academic field, but it can also be of interest to public administrations, businesses, event organizations, tourism, communications professionals and to the general public. The general objective is to investigate the role of urban popular parties in the perception of images of cities. Therefore, the object of study focused on the Madrid Pride Party and the street carnival of São Paulo. The specific objectives are: to present the studied phenomena; to analyze the perceptions of the images of Madrid and São Paulo; to compare the image perceptions of the two cities; and to analyze how the participation of agents in urban popular parties influences the perceptions of images of cities. The previous theories and the state of the art are based on the three Cs – City, Culture and Communications – and are divided into seven parts to define the starting points of the research: cities; parties; communications and consumption; images and perceptions; culture and society; Madrid; and São Paulo. Despite its focus on the field of communications, this doctoral thesis also uses other disciplines such as sociology, philosophy, anthropology, history, urbanism and political science, since they are complementary and can contribute to a better understanding of the object of study and help to find answers, or to propose useful questions to academic investigations...
