Abstract
In recent decades, academic criticism has focused on studying and editing various correspondences between poets, especially those of the Generation of '27. Of all the authors that make up the Generation of '27, the epistolary of Pedro Salinas has received special attention. On the contrary, Dámaso Alonso's has not received as much attention. In 2002, all the works, personal texts and correspondence of Dámaso Alonso that Eulalia Galvarriato managed to gather at the Real Academia Española were catalogued. The collection was created because Dámaso Alonso himself bequeathed in his will his entire personal library to the Academy of which he was director. Of all this, only the correspondence between Dámaso Alonso and Amado Alonso or between Dámaso Alonso and Marcel Bataillon, among others, has been analyzed and edited, and minimal work has been done on the personal, scientific and poetic interrelationship between Dámaso Alonso and great intellectual personalities throughout his life. This doctoral thesis has two goals: first, to edit part of the correspondence of this archive: the correspondence between Pedro Salinas and Dámaso Alonso from 1926 to 1951. This work aims to enhance the figure of Dámaso Alonso from his correspondence, from his completely vital and quite personal literature. A new vision that will serve to see the work of Dámaso Alonso in a different way, a complementary study to analyze and understand the poetic and essayistic work of one of the great authors of Spanish literature that will serve to complete his general vision, that is what this doctoral thesis intends...
