Abstract
The conservation-restoration of scientific collections does not have an established criteria that satisfies the needs of the professional of two fields: conservators-restorers and biologists. Given its double patrimonial value -cultural and natural- this type of objects demands that a balance is established between the treatments done in order to be able to study the collectión in the future, and the necessary actions to guarantee its conservation as a cultural object. In this essay a new line of research has been opened, as well as a new field to explore and lay the specific foundations in terms of conservation and restoration of entomological collections. The recent publication of “Proyecto Coremans de biopatrimonio” has been the starting point from which the appropriate criteria and actions have been established for the two boxes subject of this final degree project. The need to adapt the criteria and restoration treatment to the different types of cultural goods in order to improve the conservation of all Cultural and Historical Heritage is becoming more and more evident. To pursue this, it is essential to work in a multidisciplinary team when it comes to this type of objects with double patrimonial value and a plurality of compositional materials.
