La responsabilidad política del trabajo social

Abstract

Este artículo trata de recuperar un diálogo crítico entre la política y el trabajo social. Se argumenta que la política es una dimensión de la identidad del trabajo social de la que no podemos sustraernos. De ahí que la política y el trabajo social están doblemente ligados porque, por un lado, el ejercicio del poder político corresponde a todo ciudadano en el cuidado de la polis; por otro, el trabajo social está estrechamente vinculado a la política social por medio de su objeto de estudio. Para construir nuestros argumentos partimos de un diagnóstico de la realidad social y profesional que se sostiene en determinados supuestos que configuran esta relación específica. Pretendemos con todo ello aportar elementos de análisis que ayuden, no sólo a comprender, sino a contribuir con nuestras respuestas, información y participación, a la política, tanto como profesionales del trabajo social como por ser ciudadanos de la sociedad civil.

The intention of this article is to try to recover a critical dialog between the politics and the social work. In this paper it argued that the politics is a dimension of the identity of the social work of which we cannot avoid. In this way, the politics and the social work, are doubly tied. On the one hand, the political power exercise corresponds to every citizen of the polis. And, on the other hand, the social work is narrowly tied to the social politics by means of its object of study. Our arguments it’s construct from a diagnosis of the social reality and professional that is held in this specific relationship. We claim to contribute with elements of analyses that help, not only to understand, but also answering politically as professionals of the social work and as citizen in the society.
