Viajeros españoles en Persia (Edad Media)

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo principal el estudio y sistematización de las apreciaciones sobre Irán o Persia de cuatro viajeros españoles que lo visitaron entre los siglos XII y XVI, y su comparación, a fin de poder inferir la visión que los españoles pudieron forjarse sobre este país en distintos momentos de la historia. Asimismo, se pretende analizar el objetivo de aquellos viajeros y averiguar en qué medida ha podido influir sobre la ruta de viaje escogida en cada caso, así como clasificar desde el punto de vista geográfico, histórico y socio-cultural, los datos ofrecidos en sus obras, para determinar finalmente la narración sobre Persia que ha realizado cada uno de ellos. Con dicho estudio se ha pretendido conocer en qué aspectos coincidieron y en cuáles discreparon, para concluir finalmente qué era lo más relevante de la Persia medieval que había atraído principalmente la atención de cada viajero. Para ello, se han tenido también en cuenta las descripciones más relevantes que realizaron sobre otros países visitados en su itinerario, para poder comparar la diferente situación entre Persia y los demás países visitados y establecer la diferente evolución e importancia entre este y aquellos...This research work has as its main objective the study and the systematization of the appreciations about Iran or Persia of four Spanish travelers who visited it between the 12th and 16th centuries, and their comparison, in order to be able to infer the vision that they forged about this country at different times in history.At the same time, it intends to analyze the objectives of those travelers and find out how they may have influenced on the chosen route in each case, as well as to classify from the geographical, historical and socio-cultural point of view, the information offered in their works, to finally determine the narrative that each of them has made about Persia.
