Esperando a Godot: escenificaciones condicionadas por sus traducciones

Abstract

Es muy posible que existan a la vez tantas lecturas de un texto como lectores absorbiendo sus líneas, y, al mismo tiempo, tantas traducciones como traductores. Pero en el hecho teatral esto es aún más complejo, donde cada traductor se ha de enfrentar a los problemas de transferir un texto dramático de una cultura a otra, con sus peculiaridades literarias, lingüísticas y sígnicas, y tomar decisiones sobre contenido, estilo y género. La fidelidad de una traducción es fundamental para el teatro, porque los elementos significantes de la obra teatral han de ser trasladados fielmente del original a la traslación,para que sean interpretados y usados por directores de escena y dramaturgos de cara a futuras escenificaciones. Si no se transmiten correctamente los mismos códigos significantes de un texto fuente a un texto traducido en otra lengua, es posible que los mensajes y los signos escritos por el autor primigenio se modifiquen en dicho trasvase lingüístico, ocasionando que el futuro receptor de la obra reciba diferentes elementos significantes a los concebidos originalmente...

But in the theatrical fact this is even more complex, each translator has to confront the problems of transferring a dramatic text and its literary, linguistic and semiotic peculiarities of one culture to another, and take decisions about content, style and genre.The fidelity of a translation is fundamental for the theatre, because the significant elements of the theatrical work have to be transferred faithfully from the original to the translation,so that they can be interpreted and used by stage directors and playwrights for future performances. If the codes are not translated nor transmitted in another language, it is possible that the messages and the signs written by the original author modify in the linguistic transfer of a language to other one, causing that the future recipient of the work receives different significant elements to them conceived originally...
