dc.description.abstract | El café tiene una gran importancia económica a nivel mundial, ya que sus semillas, tostadas, molidas y en infusión, constituyen la bebida no alcohólica más consumida actualmente. Su cultivo supone una actividad económica clave en muchos países en desarrollo, y se estima que su procesamiento y comercialización movilizan más de 70.000 millones de dólares al año y dan trabajo a más de 125 millones de personas. Los suministros comerciales de café provienen de más de una especie, pero es Coffea arabica (cafeto de Arabia) la que suministra la mayor cantidad y mejor calidad de semillas. | |
dc.description.abstract | Coffee has a great economic importance worldwide since its seeds, roasted, ground and nonalcoholic infusion are currently the most consumed beverage. Its culture is a key economic activity in many developing countries, and an estimated processing and marketing mobilize more than 70,000 million dollars a year and employ over 125 million people. Commercial coffee supplies come from more than one species, but is Coffea arabica (Arabian coffee) which supplies more and better quality seeds. | |
