El nuevo héroe digital : el desarrollo de la trama en las películas de acción, aventura y fantasía

Abstract

Esta investigación examina la representación del personaje digital en el desarrollo de la trama de películas de género fantástico, acción y aventuras: Jake de Avatar, César del Planeta de los Simios y Hulk. Los personajes digitales con el sistema MoCap, captura de movimiento por un actor humano, ofrecen a las películas de fantasía, aventuras y acción una nueva perspectiva en cuanto a la comprensión de la historia y el personaje, por lo que se ha considerado importante profundizar en el conocimiento de este nuevo “héroe” digital que atraviesa el mismo arco de transformación que los héroes humanos, con características físicas, psicológicas, sociales y de acción que lo diferencian de su homólogo humano. A través de una revisión bibliográfica, un estudio cualitativo de entrevistas semiestructuradas con especialistas en el tema, encuestas a espectadores y análisis de películas, este estudio pretende averiguar si los personajes analizados generan empatía y cercanía y, en caso afirmativo, cuál es el resultado. En paralelo a esta temática, se destaca la importancia del mensaje y la relación con el espectador. En la secuencia, abordamos la motivación, los temas más tratados, la razón de elegir estos personajes no humanos y la forma de construirlos. Se dice que estos personajes, al ser diferentes de los humanos, generan, en relación con los mensajes transmitidos, un altísimo grado de aceptación entre la audiencia, consiguiendo transmitir con imparcialidad diferentes perspectivas y, sobre todo, construyéndose para marcar la diferencia. Como poseen valores humanos, ética, moral, ciudadanía y la propia humanidad, que los humanos han perdido hace tiempo, se deduce que pueden ser los mejores interlocutores para transmitirestos mensajes clave.

This investigation examines the representation of the digital characters in the plot development of Fantasy and Action-Adventure films: Jake from Avatar, Caesar from Planet of the Apes, and Hulk. Digital characters that utilize the MoCap system (motion capture by a human actor) offer Fantasy and Action – Adventure films a new perspective regarding the understanding of the story and the character, and for this reason it was considered important to deepen the knowledge of this new digital “hero”. A hero who goes through the same transformation arc as human heroes, with physical, psychological, social, and action characteristics that distinguish them from their human counterparts.Through a bibliographic review, a qualitative study of semi-structured interviews with subject-matter experts, spectator surveys, and film analysis, this study seeks to know ifthe characters under analysis generate empathy and proximity and, if so, what the result is. Along with this theme, emphasis is given to the importance of the message transmitted and the relationship formed with the spectator. It then addresses the what the motivation is, the topics most often involved, the reason for choosing these non-human characters, and the way in which they are constructed. Because these characters are different from human characters, the messages that they pass will more easily be accepted by the audience, which will let then show different and impartial perspectives to the audience, as above all they are created in order to make a difference. By possessing human values, ethics, morals, conscientiousness, and humanity, which seen to have been long lost by humans, it is inferred that they may be the best interlocutors to transmit these key messages.
