El rigor periodístico en la generación de contenidos digitales

Abstract

La presente tesis doctoral está centrada en el estudio del rigor como virtud y de las rutinas periodísticas vinculadas a la multitarea y al ejercicio polivalente, funciones a las que se somete el trabajo del periodista cuando construye narrativas hipertextuales y multimedia de transmisión simultánea, de acuerdo con las exigencias de la temporalidad y la inmediatez. Se trata de una investigación teórico-descriptiva, cuyo punto de partida es el concepto de verdad informativa como eje principal sobre el cual se mueven todas las acciones del periodista en el proceso que abarca la identificación del hecho noticioso, la labor indagatoria y de verificación de fuentes, y la composición discursiva. Por consiguiente, se establecen los siguientes criterios de rigor: el contexto (antecedentes y consecuencias); las fuentes (tipo y nivel de aporte, y variedad de puntos de vista); la observación; la estructura narrativa; y el origen de la información. Y, siempre en el marco del concepto de rigor, esta investigación identifica las características de la hipertextualidad y la multimedialidad del discurso periodístico digital que impiden el cumplimiento de las exigencias del rigor informativo, en un ecosistema donde proliferan las noticias falsas o fake news y los motores de búsqueda son el timón para llegar a las audiencias. This doctoral thesis is focused on the study of rigor as a virtue and of the journalistic routines linked to multitasking and polyvalent exercise, functions to which the work of the journalist is subjected when constructing hypertextual and multimedia narratives of simultaneous transmission, of according to the demands of temporality and immediacy. It is a theoretical-descriptive investigation, whose starting point is the concept of informative truth as the main axis on which all the actions of the journalist move in the process that includes the identification of the news fact, the investigative work and verification of sources, and discursive composition. Therefore, the following criteria of rigor are established: the context (antecedents and consequences); the sources (type and level of input, and range of viewpoints); the observation; the narrative structure; and the origin of the information.And, always within the framework of the concept of rigor, this research identifies the characteristics of hypertextuality and multimediality of digital journalistic discourse that prevent compliance with the demands of informative rigor, in an ecosystem where false news or fake news proliferate and search engines are the rudder to reach the audiences.Objective: The main objective is to analyze the theoretical and practical links that the virtues of truthfulness and prudence have with the diligent and rigorous action of the journalist in the current process of news production in digital formats...
