Lo fantástico en el realismo de los cuentos de Galdós

Abstract

Además de novelas y teatros, Benito Pérez Galdós también cultiva cuentos, en algunos de los cuales podemos observar una fusión del realismo y los elementos fantásticos. En este estudio hemos escogido siete de ellos: Una industria que vive de la muerte, Manicomio político-social, La novela en el tranvía, La mula y el buey, La princesa y el granuja, Theros y Celín para hacer un análisis sobre la combinación del realismo y lo fantástico desde las siguientes perspectivas: el espacio, el tiempo, la forma autobiográfica, el sueño, los seres sobrenaturales, etc.

Apart from novels and theatres, Benito Pérez Galdós also cultivates short stories, in some of which we could observe a combination of the realism and the fantasy elements. In this study we have selected seven of them: Una industria que vive de la muerte, Manicomio político-social, La novela en el tranvía, La mula y el buey, La princesa y el granuja, Theros and Celín, with the purpose of analyse the combination that we have mentioned from the following aspects: the space, the time, the form of autobiography, the dreams, the supernatural beings, etc.
