Abstract

El punto de partida, común a muchas lecturas de la relación de Goethe y Schiller, es el siguiente: ambos son muy diferentes y, sin embargo, llegaron, sorprendentemente, a entenderse muy bien y a cooperar fructíferamente. Goethe tiene una orientación empírica en sus acciones y en el desarrollo de su obra. Schiller es marcadamente idealista. Todo esto es bien cierto, sin embargo, no se ha reparado tanto en cómo estas diferencias se manifiestan en su forma de escribir. El estilo de Schiller en sus textos teoréticos e históricos denota un prurito profesoral en el que intenta en todo momento hacerse comprender. Por el contrario, en sus escritos de filosofía natural, Goethe parece dirigirse a los investigadores en asuntos naturales a los que él se siente equiparado...

The starting point, common to many readings from Goethe and Schiller’s relationship, is as it follows: both ones were very different to each other and, however, they came, surprisingly, to a fruitful agreement and cooperation. Goethe has an empirical orientation in his actions and in the development of his work. Schiller is markedly idealistic. All this is quite true; nevertheless, it has not been so much noticed how he shows these differences in his style of writing. Schiller’s style in his theoretical and historical texts reveal a sort of professional obsession in which he tries, at any time, to be understood. On the contrary, in his writings on natural philosophy, Goethe seems to address to researchers in nature, to whom he feels equated...
