Abstract

Despite the common assumption that the German philosopher Theodor W. Adorno (1903- 1969) did not wr¡te extensively about film, this article attempts to reveal how strongly cinema influenced Adorno's conception of the cultural industry and emanciparory arr. Focusing on his text "Filmtronsporente" ("Transparencies on Film") published in 1966 by the weeldy magazine Die Zeit, the authors briefly examine some of the aesthetic notions and philosophical paradigms that Adorno displayed in that text.
