Abstract
Las verrugas plantares son tumores benignos de la epidermis causados por el Virus del Papiloma Humano con una incidencia anual del 14%. El tratamiento conservador generalmente, se realiza a través de productos físicos o químicos aplicados directamente sobre la lesión. Existen pocos ensayos clínicos sobre el tratamiento de las verrugas cutáneas, y aún menos sobre el tratamiento de las verrugas plantares. Además, los resultados en cuanto a tasas de curación con los distintos tratamientos son muy heterogéneos entre los estudios, y no existe un consenso sobre el número de sesiones ni las formas de aplicación de ningún tratamiento. Además, muchos de los tratamientos no tienen una indicación específica para verrugas plantares por la Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios(AEMPS) y son tratamientos cuya indicación es el tratamiento de otros tipos de verrugas como pueden ser las verrugas comunes o anogenitales, o incluso el tratamiento de otras afecciones...

However, there are limited clinical trials that focus on treating skin warts and even fewer that specifically address plantar warts treatment. Also, the reported cure rates significantly vary across different studies due to inconsistencies in the number of treatment sessions and application methods used.
