Abstract
Its progressive internationalisation and the strengthening of the skillsbased approach have led to a proliferation of criticisms of a higher education system that is increasingly considered to be commercialised. However, this paper seeks to defend a still much-needed international cooperation between educational institutions located in countries with different levels of development. Theoretical arguments presented will be accompanied by an example of collaboration among universities through a transformational partnership
