La colección de pliegos de cordel y literatura popular del Seminario de Bibliografía (UCM): aproximación a su estudio bibliográfico

Abstract

El presente trabajo es el estudio bibliográfico de una colección de pliegos poéticos de cordel de los siglos XVIII y XIX perteneciente al Seminario de Bibliografía de la Facultad de Filología (UCM). El primer capítulo explica las características de la literatura popular, su forma de difusión en pliegos sueltos, los temas y motivos que trata esta literatura y la figura del ciego como cantor. También se dedican epígrafes a la casa editorial Jolis-Pla, al sistema de impresión por medios pliegos y, por el carácter ciertamente bibliofílico de este trabajo, al mercado editorial actual de estos testimonios. La segunda parte contiene un repertorio de cincuenta y tres entradas donde se describen tipobibliográficamente todas las ediciones y ejemplares que la integran, cuyas características y descripciones constituyen el objeto principal del trabajoThe present work is a bibliographic study of poetry chapbooks from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries belonging to the Seminary of Bibliography of the Faculty of Philology (UCM). The first chapter explains the features of popular literature: transmission by chapbooks, themes and motifs and the figure of the blind as cantor. Sections are also dedicated to the publishing house Jolis-Pla, to the printing by half sheets and, because of the bibliophilic nature of this work, to the current market of these testimonies. The second part contains a repertoire of fifty-three entries with material descriptions of all editions and copies, these features are the main subject of the work
