Abstract
The stela of Seti I (Brooklyn Museum, 69.116.1) is an example of Egyptian donation stela, a not common subtipe of boundary stela in Ancient Egypt. The main function of this kind of artefacts was to delimit the territory, what, together with its iconography, inscriptions, shape, material, etc., suggests possible parallelisms with those other artefacts which were created and developed by the Kassite Dynasty of Babylon, calledBabylonian kudurrus. That’s why, the main aim of this paper is to analyze this stele of Seti I in association with the rest of types of Egyptian boundary stelae. Finaly, the possible constitutive and functional elements common between both Babylonian kudurrus and Egyptian boundary stelae will be studied.
