La búsqueda de la identidad femenina en las obras de Isabel Allende y Ding Ling

Abstract

La presente tesis, titulada La búsqueda de la identidad femenina en las obras de Isabel Allende y Ding Ling, examina cómo estas autoras construyen y representan la identidad femenina en contextos sociopolíticos y culturales muy distintos: Chile del siglo XX y China del mismo periodo. A través de un análisis comparativo, se identifican afinidades temáticas y paralelismos en sus trayectorias personales y literarias, pese a la diversidad de experiencias históricas que condicionaron su desarrollo. Ambas enfrentaron estructuras patriarcales que influyeron en la percepción de la mujer y en la construcción de su identidad, aunque las oportunidades y limitaciones de este proceso variaron según su contexto. Este estudio se centra en cómo la experiencia femenina se convierte en un espacio de resistencia y auto-empoderamiento, en diálogo con los cambios sociales, políticos y culturales de sus respectivos entornos, y cómo sus narrativas permiten explorar las tensiones entre individualidad y colectividad, así como la interacción con otras formas de marginalización, como la clase y la raza...

This thesis, titled The Search for Female Identity in the Works of Isabel Allende and Ding Ling, examines how these authors construct and represent female identity within very different sociopolitical and cultural contexts: twentieth century Chile and China during the same period. Through a comparative analysis, thematic affinities and parallels are identified in their personal and literary trajectories, despite the diversity of historical experiences that shaped their development. Both authors confronted patriarchal structures that influenced the perception of women and the construction of their identity, although the opportunities and limitations of this process varied according to their contexts.
