Abstract
Introducción: El fenómeno Chemsex, definido como el consumo voluntario de drogas para tener
relaciones sexuales, junto a su variante, Slamsex, han estado cobrando popularidad entre los
grupos de hombres que tienen sexo con hombres durante los últimos años, considerándose un
problema importante para la salud pública. Objetivo: explorar la prevalencia y el crecimiento del
fenómeno Chemsex en los últimos años, creación de un marco teórico explicativo, identificación
de factores predisponentes y consecuencias, y la búsqueda y propuesta de estrategias para
afrontar estas. Métodos: Se emplearon diversas bases de datos de acceso publico para la
búsqueda de información, para su posterior ordenamiento y síntesis. Resultados: Los datos
recogidos revelaron que el crecimiento se ha visto favorecido por diversos determinantes de
salud, factores psicosociales, culturales y conductuales asociados a este grupo poblacional,
además de por el desarrollo de aplicaciones de citas, la presencia de ITS o la falta de recursos.
Se identificaron numerosas consecuencias relativas al consumo de sustancias y a la toma de
riesgos en las relaciones sexuales. Además, se pudieron concretar numerosas estrategias para
afrontar el problema. Conclusiones: La importancia del fenómeno del Chemsex fue demostrada
en el artículo, y se señaló la necesidad de la toma de medidas, la concienciación y capacitación
de los usuarios y de los organismos encargados de facilitar ayudas, con el fin de mitigar el
problema y prevenir la afectación de mayor numero de personas mediante un abordaje
multidisciplinar.
Background: Chemsex, defined as the voluntary consumption of drugs for maintain sexual relations, together with its variant, Slamsex, have been gaining popularity among groups of men who have sex with men during the last few years, being considered an important problem for public health. Purpose: We aimed to explore the prevalence and growth of the Chemsex phenomenon in recent years, create an explanatory theoretical framework, identify predisposing factors and consequences, and to search and propose strategies to address these. Methods: Several public access databases were used to search for information, for its subsequent ordering and synthesis. Findings: The data collected revealed that growth has been favoured by various health determinants, psychosocial, cultural and behavioural factors associated with this population group, in addition to the development of dating applications, the presence of STIs and the lack of resources. Various consequences related to substance use and risk-taking in sexual relationships were identified. Then, numerous coping strategies were able to be concretized. Conclusions: The importance of the Chemsex phenomenon was proved in the article, and the need for action, awareness and training of users and agencies in charge of providing help was pointed out, in order to mitigate the problem and prevent affecting more people through a multidisciplinary approach.
