Análisis cuantitativo del las estructuras adyacentes al monte submarino Emíle Baudot (Mar Balear, España)

Abstract

The detailed analysis of the bathymetric map based on multibeam echosounder data, in the Emile Baudot seamount area, allowed us to detect and characterize more than 118 edifices. It could be observed two structural directions: one NE-SW corresponding to the Emile Baudot escarpment transform fault and the conjugate direction NW-SE that correspond to a distensive area that probably connects this zone with the Valencia Trough.
