La imagen de los destinos turísticos. La técnica Repertory Grid y revisión de trabajos entre 1980-2012 (Tourism destination image.The use of Repertory Grid technique and review of papers from 1980 to 2012)

Abstract

La imagen de los destinos turísticos es un tópico importante en la investigación turística actual. La investigación empírica en éste área es predominantemente cuantitativa, aunque la investigación cualitativa está creciendo rápidamente en la investigación de la imagen de los destinos. El objetivo de este estudio es revisar 336 trabajos sobre la imagen de los destinos turísticos publicados entre 1980 y el primer trimestre de 2012. La técnica Repertory Grid está especialmente tratada en el estudio, ya que enlaza los dos principales paradigmas de la investigación científica, el positivista o cuantitativo y el interpretativo o cualitativo. Se sugiere la utilización de la técnica Repertory Grid en la investigación de la imagen de los destinos. ABSTRACT: Destination image is a hot topic in contemporary tourism research. Empirical research on this area is predominantly quantitative although the qualitative approach is growing quickly in tourism destination image. The aim of this study is to review 336 destination image empirical papers published from 1980 and the first quarter of 2012. The use of the Repertory Grid technique is specially analyzed since that this technique bridges the two main scientific research paradigms, the positivist or quantitative and the interpretative or qualitative paradigm. It is suggested the use of the Repertory Grid approach on destination image research.
